People Helping People

Today was an assignment about People Helping People.

Texas Health Gives has monthly service projects throughout the Metroplex where their employees go out and GIVE of their time to places in need of volunteers.

This event consisted of MANY different organizations coming together to help elderly people – what a REWARDING day!!!

a moment

Saw this man, having a moment, from the other side of the fence.

I couldn’t get to him to add HIM to my collection of strangers.

He caught me eye just the same.

Break the Silence

Documented a woman who is an ovarian cancer SURVIVOR at the Run/Walk to Break the Silence on Ovarian Cancer event in Arlington Texas.

Barbara (with teal bandanna), with her best friend by her side (sporting the red bag – who surprised her by showing up from out of town), is cancer FREE as of 2 years!!!

Towards the finish line was the AMAZING Faith Temple ‘Diesel’ Drum-line to encourage people to finish STRONG – and they did.

Spent a Saturday afternoon with these Twins.

We had the BEST time together at Dallas Heritage Village at Old City Park.

I can STILL hear their laughter.

A poker game WITHOUT stogies??!!  I don’t think so!!!!

Great event to kick off the new year for YPO.

Charles A. Sammons Critical Care Tower

On Sept 11, 2012, I got to be a part of a really cool event.

Methodist Dallas Medical Center honoring the Dallas Fire & Rescue team as they kicked off their announcement and ground-breaking for the NEW Charles A. Sammons Critical Care Tower.

SUPER cool opportunity here – history in the making!!

Environmental Portrait

I recently took THIS environmental portrait of a Drag Queen at a car wash fund raiser for Big D Roundup.  They met their financial goal.  : )

They were EXTREMELY open for having all kinds of pix taken.  I did the 35/85 experience – Nikon D4 with only my 35 & 85.  I’m glad I did – my 2 FAV lenses.

i am ALWAYS on a quest for finding fresh, NEW locations, so we headed west.

I had heard that if you even THINK about “breaking in” at the Baker Hotel in Mineral Wells TX – ‘they’ will take you to jail … NO QUESTIONS asked.

It said KEEP OUT, so I did.

The Baker Hotel
