When “FOCUS” is Critical

The University of North Texas is one of my clients and last year I had the honor of doing step and repeat pix of people with Mayor Rudy Giuliani in downtown Dallas.  At the end of the shoot, Mayor Giuliani said (to me) he ALWAYS likes to get/give a picture with the photographer (and photo assistant) , so I proceeded to hand my camera over into the “trusted hands” of his body guard and gave him brief instructions about composition and most importantly, how to FOCUS.  His body guard took two pictures and Mayor Giuliani said (to me) “just double check to make sure you are pleased with the pictures” …. I took a look at them and saw THIS … and didn’t have the heart to tell him how out of focus they were.  He said “… are WE good?!”   I said “…they look GREAT!!”  He said “Are you SURE?!” I said “Yes Sir, we are done with the picture-taking part of your meeting here …”

I believe life is all about making memories and not sweating the small stuff – even when you are standing right next to someone like Mayor Rudy Giuliani.  ; )

Bless! Truck 2016

Today was so SUPER SPECIAL.  We (Gateway Church Frisco) got to go all over Frisco Texas today to the first responders and pray with them, give them a tub full of goodies and to just simply THANK them for all they do.

I LOVED it and the opportunity to be a part of something bigger than myself.

Loving on Altair with MotoKofe

Today was a SUPER SPECIAL day.  I hired MotoKofe to come out to Altair Global in Plano Texas and serve them misc coffee beverages for several hours this morning.  I had Mary bake up some of her AMAZING cookies, and I got to hand them out personally to each and every person that stopped-by to get coffee.  A HUGE thanks to Norcostco for my EPIC costume – “Queen of Hearts”.  Today was a VERY good day – Happy Valentine’s Day 2016, everyone!

Campus Life

Had a recent assignment and opportunity to be on TCC‘s Southeast Campus.
Was reminded how MUCH I miss campus life.  College is such a GREAT time in life to discover who you are and where you’re going.  Looking forward to the next opportunity. See you around campus!!

A Project of a Lifetime

Over 3 years ago I was inspired by a Detroit-based photographer named Nicholas Nixon.  Nicholas started his project in 1975 by taking a portrait of his wife and her 3 sisters, and carried out the tradition every year.

I started in 2013 by taking a portrait of my 3 nephews.  This is truly a project of a lifetime.  It has been a practice of patience as well.  I am eager to see them change from year to year.  I decided to make it as accurate as possible by taking it every year on Christmas day.

Here is the project to date.
